Recruit Study Guide
"We understand that passing our very tough recruit training program can be difficult. Especially to potential Marines who do not attempt to give an honest try. First I would like to say that the rumors about us are slightly true, we are hard to get into. But, it is over exaggerated. When you first received your email with the links pointing you to this page your now reading, this was probably the first time you saw the level of commitment that is required from you to pass our training. And if your like everybody else, your immediately second guessing your decision. Do not let the very long list of material trick you, all you need to do on your part is some lazy reading in the areas highlighted below and come prepared to your training Orientation Day. If you do that then I can promise you that your chances of making it into this unit will increase significantly." |
In the 3rd Marines we mimic as much as we can off the real USMC and its culture. And as such, what is written above is the first and last time you (as a recruit) will hear us speaking to you during your training as equals. Because in our eyes (like the real corps), recruits have yet to earn the title of US Marine. More about what to expect during your training can be found in the "General Rules and FAQS while your a Recruit" MCI.
In order to pass Boot Camp and become a Marine with the 3rd MAR, you must first pass the final exam. The Final Exam is held immediately after the "Crucible" on the 4th and last day of your recruit training. Below is a helpful chart detailing what areas you should focus on and which areas you are safe to just briefly get a understanding of.
